Overview
The Hive Smith is a new premium Manuka honey brand entering the Australian market, built on the production and export expertise of NovaFarm.
NovaFarm is a 100% Australian-owned, family-run business and one of the largest suppliers of Australian Manuka honey in Adelaide, South Australia, with over 30 years of experience supplying premium honey to export markets.
This project represents the translation of NovaFarm’s deep industry knowledge into a high-end consumer-facing brand.
The Opportunity
The Hive Smith set out to launch a rare-batch, high-MGO Manuka honey, positioned above commercial-grade Manuka. The product had to be packed in clear glass to showcase purity and colour, with packaging that felt unmistakably premium. The outer box needed to deliver a luxury, wow experience, avoiding generic cartons and reinforcing that this is not mass-market Manuka honey.

We designed a clear label system that works seamlessly with glass, allowing the honey itself to become the hero.
An oversized gold-foil THE HIVE SMITH wordmark wraps across three sides of the jar, creating a bold, confident brand presence without visual clutter. For the outer packaging, we developed a custom dieline that holds the jar securely and opens with a considered reveal — engineered to work without glue or additional treatments, keeping the experience clean and refined. Backed by NovaFarm’s proven Manuka expertise, the packaging confidently communicates rarity, quality, and restraint — letting the product speak for itself.
